MAYFAIR GANG
This is a photo-story about my interaction with a group of teenagers from Wallington, a town south of London. I encountered them in Camden, a London neighborhood with a rich history of counter culture. Camden's peculiarities, which have been commercialized continue to attract teenagers. It is a place for them to express their individuality and hang out with peers. This specific group of teens were jokingly named the Mayfair Gang. We shared stories, talked politics, made art, and went to concerts. These photos show a small segment of their teenage world. A world that pushes boundaries, but also inspires the social connection and hope that is seen amongst youth. The photographs were taken in the summer of 2011.
